Tobacco Use Cessation

Tobacco Use Cessation in Adults with COPD

MEDIC is partnering with Healthy Behavior Optimization for Michigan (HBOM), a population health-focused Collaborative Quality Initiative (CQI), to facilitate this collaboration. The goal of this work is to increase the number of adult current smokers with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) seen in the emergency department (ED) who receive tobacco use cessation resources and/or counseling from an ED physician.

Qualified MEDIC member sites that choose to participate in this work are eligible to participate in the site-level value-based reimbursement (VBR) program associated with performance improvement on this quality work.
